When
it comes to comfort, durability, economy and environmental
sustainability, cotton batting is the natural choice for manufacturers
of today’s high-tech mattresses.
Unlike man-made materials, cotton is both
renewable and biodegradable. That means that cotton batting is safe for
people and the environment over time, criteria necessary for sustainable
development.
Fire retardant cotton batting treated
with boric acid has been used successfully as an interior component in
mattresses for more than 35 years and has proven to be a safe process.

What
Is Boric Acid?
Boric acid, also known as boracic acid or orthoboric acid, is a
naturally occurring compound containing the elements boron,
oxygen, and hydrogen (H3BO3). In nature,
the
element boron does not exist by itself. Boron is combined with
other common elements, such as sodium to make salts like borax
and with oxygen to make boric acid.
